A morning tea was recently held at the Westside offices to congratulate Development & Projects Engineer, Jake O’Reilly on his achievement as the 2023 Gavin Webb award recipient, which was presented to him on behalf of the Company by Ian Meynink, Westside’s Chief Development Officer.

Jake has been recognised within the company and by his peers in particular, for his approach towards Health Safety and Environment (HSE).

Westside’s Chief Company Officer Brendan Madden said Jake consistently models a standard of addressing and preventing HSE issues at the front end.

“Jake’s contribution to the design of infrastructure and enforcement of compliance with our governing standards has ensured we maintain the highest HSE standards at all times, whilst delivering outcomes that consider our landholders’ needs as well,” he said.

“We’re extremely pleased to congratulate Jake for achieving Westside’s highest honour,” said Mr Madden.

Gavin Webb’s Legacy

Longstanding Westside manager Gavin Webb spent the last few years of his life living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND).

Throughout his illness, he supported others living with MND as well as being a prolific fundraiser for MND research, giving hope and inspiration to others.

Gavin valued excellence in everything he did, and it is for this reason our company award for excellence is given each year in his name.
