Westside steps up its Sponsorship of Moura Coal and Country Festival

Celebrating its 50th year, the Moura Coal and Country Festival, is set to be one of the biggest social events on the Moura community calendar.

Westside has supported the festival for a number of years, and will this year boost its support of the Festival to ensure it is the best one yet.

Oil and gas operator and explorer, Westside has been operating in the area since 2010, employing locals and working closely with the community, local suppliers and partners.

Westside CEO Matt Wallach expressed how important it is for Westside to support key community events like the Moura Coal and Country Festival.

“Westside believes making a positive contribution to the local community helps to build capability and support a vibrant and prosperous future for the communities where we operate.

“We’ve been working within the community for more than 10 years and our future expansion plans will continue to contribute to the overall economic growth of Moura,” he said.

“With the events of the past two years, it’s been challenging to run community events, so we’ve increased our support of the Festival to ensure the community can once again come together and enjoy the event,” Mr Wallach said.

Festival goers will enjoy a series of crowd-pleasing favourites including the street procession, food & trade Stalls, show cattle and pavilion displays, fireworks, coal shovelling & roof bolting and live music until late on the Saturday night. There are also some new attractions that are set to surprise and delight attendees.

Moura Coal and Country Festival runs from 19-20 August.
